Lance Graham Cleaver
With 20 years’ senior management experience in the formal retail and micro lending industries, Lance is one of the most experienced people in South Africa when it comes to this sector. His main contribution entails the development of business models to transact successfully in the unsecured lending markets.
Lance held a senior position in Altfin, which was a pioneer in the South African micro-finance industry in the early ‘90s. He then joined African Bank in a senior capacity and was a member of the executive and credit committees responsible for over ZAR6 billion of their annual turnover. In 2004, he left African Bank to found Izwe; Lance is the current Managing Director focusing on growth within African and owns a significant share in Izwe.
Dave previously worked for Ernst & Young in South Africa and the Netherlands where he managed the audits of four large listed companies including Edcon, Tiger Brands, Hitachi & The Coca-Cola Company. Dave joined Izwe in 2008 as Group Financial Manager and during 2011 he moved to Accra, Ghana in an executive capacity directing the Group’s non-South African operations. He is now Chief Operating Officer of the Group based in Johannesburg, South Africa and he is an active member on the Board of Directors within each country.
He is the Executive Director of Pokot Educational and Development Programme (PEDP); a development and humanitarian organization he founded in 2001. Has 16 years solid experience in transformational leadership and management of change. Posses a Masters degree in Organizational Development (United States International University – Kenya) and currently a candidate of Doctor of Business Leadership (DBL) from UNISA. He is a Director and shareholder. He is an accomplished Investment Consultant with networks with strong investors from Germany, China, Italy, Israel, USA, Singapore, and Indonesia among others.
Hon. Kamama Asman
Honourable is a Member of Parliament for Tiaty Constituency in Baringo County. He also chairs the most powerful committee in Kenya National Assembly of National Security and Administration. This is a Parliamentary Committee that is in charge of Internal Security.
He has served in Parliament for the last 10 years where he rose to the position of Assistant Minister of various Ministries and finally Minister for Public Service before the change to the new Constitution. He is the Principal of the local shareholders and serves as a non-executive Board Member. He has a B.A. degree in International Relations & Diplomacy (USA) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations & Diplomacy from Kenyatta University.
David Kibet Arusei
David is an accomplished micro-finance operator and is one of the most experienced in the industry in Kenya. He is currently the Executive Director of Izwe Loans Kenya Limited and a shareholder.
He has 15 years’ experience in the banking and financial sector in general and fully understands the financial architecture and pulse of microfinance in Kenya. David holds a Bsc. Microfinance (Hons), Dip. Microfinance.
